The first clear images of the new-generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio have been leaked online ahead of its official launch that’s likely to happen by September, 2021. The model was caught on camera during its TVC shot. The new 2021 Maruti Celerio carries more angular design elements instead of the original squarish bits.
The flattish-oval grille with honeycomb-like elements and revised front bumper with give it a refreshing front fascia. The newly-designed headlamps with triangular shape and rounded corners are connected via a chrome strip that’s merging in the centre with the signature logo. The new Maruti Celerio 2021 will be bigger than the outgoing model and it gets evident with the long tapering roofline and larger glasshouse. The rear section has been revised with the wraparound taillamps and revised bumper with blackended bits.
The new 2021 Maruti Celerio will ditch the existing platform for Suzuki’s Heartect platform that underpins several other Maruti Suzuki cars. Its interior details are yet to be announced by the carmaker. Though, the hatchback is likely to share most of its features with the other Maruti cars such as infotainment system, window switches and control buttons.
For power, the new Maruti Celerio 2021 will use the WaongR’s 83bhp, 1.2L petrol engine that will be more powerful and refined than the existing 1.0L K10 gasoline unit. The hatchback will retain the 1.0L, 3-cylinder petrol engine as well. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT gearbox options.
