New 2015 BMW X5 launching soon

BMW India has launched the third generation X5 SUV in the Indian car market. It has been priced at Rs. 70.9 lakh (ex-showroom).  Unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo, the new X5 gets changes both to exteriors and interiors.

The new generation BMW X5 models looks different from its previous model and now features tall upright stance making it appear aggressive. The front fascia is equipped with broader kidney grille with chrome surrounds which is complemented by new headlamps with LED inserts. The rear sports two piece taillights and the light rings leveled along the bottom edge and flapped at the top edge.

The new model is 5mm wider, 32mm longer and 14mm taller than its predecessor, making it 1938mm wide, 4886mm long and 1762mm high. It comes with a large wheelbase of 2933mm and 650-litres of boot space. Inside the cabin, the vehicle gets wooden treatment around the dash, door pads and the gearlever. The model is equipped with freestanding 10.5-inch iDrive control display monitor while the instrument panel has 4 round gauges.

The new BMW X5 will be locally developed in the country. As standard features, the vehicle has air suspension, self-levelling rear suspension, electronic damper control, four-zone climate control, cruise control with braking function, etc. Adding to it, this model sports lane departure warning and road sign information, head up display, night vision with human and animal detection, 360 degree surround view parking assistant and collision warning.

The new generation BMW X5 is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine producing 258PS of power and 560Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox. It catches a top speed of 230kmph and accelerates to 100kmph from rest in just 6.9 seconds.
