MG HS SUV (Hyundai Tucson Rival) to be Unveiled at Auto Expo 2020

MG Motor India will unveil 14 new exciting cars at the 2020 Auto Expo. The company has released a new teaser video revealing its upcoming model to debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. The teaser reveals that MG Motors will unveil the HS 5-seater premium, which is retailed in developed countries. This SUV rivals the Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5, Citroen C5 Aircross and Hyundai Tucson.

For people not in the know, MG Motors had showcased the HS SUV to dealers and potential buyers before its entry in our market. However, the MG HS will be a showcar at the biennial event. It is not likely to be launched in the Indian market. Positioned above Hector SUV, the MG HS comes with premium interior and stylish exterior. – MG HS is a 5-seater premium SUV, which rivals the Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5, Citroen C5 Aircross and Hyundai Tucson.
– In terms of proportions, the SUV is 4,574mm long, 1,876mm wide and 1,685mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,720mm.
– The MG HS will be a showcar at the Auto Expo, and won’t go on sale in India.

In terms of styling, the SUV gets a prominent radiator grille with big MG logo in the centre, larger LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and big bumper that accommodates fog lamps and skid plate. The SUV rides on chunky 18-inch alloy wheels. Other design highlights include red brake calipers, twin exhaust pipes and LED tail-lamps.

Dimensionally, the MG HS 5-seater premium SUV measures 4,574mm in length, 1,876mm in width and 1,685mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,720mm. The SUV is available with 2 petrol engine options – 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol and 2.0-litre turbo petrol. While the former is good for 169PS and 250Nm, the 2.0L unit produces 231PS and 370Nm. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed DCT and a 6-speed DCT.

Apart from the HS SUV, MG Motors will unveil the Marvel X electric SUV, Hector Plus 6-seater, a compact SUV based on Baojun RS-3, a ZS electric and the Maxus D90 premium SUV.
