2020 Honda Amaze BS6 Launched; Prices Increased, Mileage Dropped

After introducing the BS6 City sedan, Honda has introduced the BSVI compliant version of the Amaze compact sedan. The petrol range now starts at Rs 6.10 lakh and goes up to Rs 8.76 lakh, while the diesel Amaze is priced between Rs 7.56 lakh and Rs 9.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The prices of the petrol Amaze raised by up to Rs 17,000, while the diesel gets costlier by up to Rs 50,000.

The Honda Amaze is powered by a BSVI compliant 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine in both manual and CVT versions. It also becomes the first BS6 compliant diesel model from Honda in India. This engine is capable of producing 99bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. With CVT gearbox, the powertrain dishes out 79bhp and 160Nm of torque. The Honda Amaze diesel manual now claimed to return 24.7kmpl, which is down by 2.8kmpl (27.4kmpl in BS4 model). On the other hand, the diesel CVT mileage is reduced to 21kmpl from 23.8kmpl. Honda has applied its exhaust gas after-treatment system with NSC (NOx Storage Catalyst) and DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) to meet the stringent BS6 emission norms. Honda’s original Silver Thin Coated DPF (STC-DPF) enables reduction of PM combustion time by 40% compared to the conventional DPF.

The gasoline version of the Honda Amaze gets a BSVI compliant 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine in both manual and CVT. This engine is capable of prpducing 89bhp of power and 110Nm of torque. The petrol version is claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 18.6kmpl (a drop of .9kmpl) and 18.3kmpl (drop of .7kmpl) in manual and CVT respectively.
