MG EZS SUV launching in October; to Offer over 250km Range
The MG EZS comes with a range of 335km (NEDC) on a full charge.
MG Motor is all set to launch the long-awaited MG Hector premium SUV in India in the second quarter of 2019. A new media report claims that the SUV will arrive on April 2, 2019; though official launch date is yet to be announced. Besides Hector, MG will launch the EZS pure electric SUV in India in the end of 2019. According to the PTI, the new model will be launched around October and will be available only in select cities.
With limited infrastructure, MG aims to sell the product in less than 20 cities. The all-electric SUV was unveiled at the 2018 Guangzhou Auto Show in November. It features a 45.6kWh battery pack that offers 150PS of power and 350Nm of torque. The battery can be fully charged in 6 hours using AC charger, while the 80% can be charged in 30 minutes using fast charging option. For the record, MG claims that it can do 0 to 50kmph in just 3.1 seconds.
The MG EZS comes with a range of 335km (NEDC) on a full charge. On a single charge, this pure electric SUV can cover Delhi to Jaipur. In India, the electric SUV will offer a range of over 250km. In terms of styling, the MG eZS looks largely identical to the regular model. The SUV comes with new 5-spoke alloys, charging port under the front grille, eZS badging and new Blue paint scheme. The SUV features a large touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and a panoramic sunroof. The MG eZS pure electric SUV is expected to be priced around Rs 25 lakh. It will directly rival the upcoming Hyundai Kona electric.
