Tata Harrier Soon Get An Update; Teaser Released

Tata Motors will soon update its highly-popular Harrier SUV model lineup in the country. The carmaker recently dropped tweeted “See more, be more, #LiveMore! Get ready to experience panoramic views like never before”. While the company hasn’t revealed what update it will be, it’s likely to be the two new mid-spec XTA and XTA+ automatic variants. The existing Tata Harrier model lineup includes four automatic variants, namely, XMA, XMA+, XZA and XZA+. The new XTA and XTA+ automatic will feature the same 168bhp, 2.0L diesel engine that can be had with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic gearbox.

In other updates, the home-grown carmaker is ready to introduce the Tata HBX concept based micro SUV to challenge the Maruti S-Presso, Mahindra KUV100 and the upcoming Hyundai mini SUV. In fact, its production-ready first batch is ready to dispatch. Rumour has it that the model could be named ‘Tata Timero’ or ‘Tata Hornbill’. Its official name and details are likely to be revealed in coming weeks. The Tata HBX will be the brand’s smallest and most affordable SUV.

If reports are to be believed, the petrol-turbo variants could be offered with the dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Recently, Tata Motors rolled out the updated Tiago NRG at a starting price of Rs 6.57 lakh (ex-showroom). The model received newly-designed front and rear bumpers, faux silver skid plates, faux roof rails, new dual-tone 15-inch alloy wheels, a thick plastic trim on the tailgate, lots of body cladding and slightly higher ground clearance.
