Mahindra XUV700 is surely one of the much-anticipated car launches of this year. The automaker is all set to unveil the product today (14th August 2021), which will be followed by its launch in September or early October.

In the premium 7-seater SUV segment, the new Mahindra model will face challenge from cars like Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari. It will be the most feature-packed and powerful SUV among its rivals. The XUV700 will also be the first model to feature the brand’s new logo.
Here’re engine specifications, feature details and expected prices of the upcoming new Mahindra 7-seater SUV.
Mahindra XUV700 Petrol Engine
The petrol version of the SUV will source its power from a new 2.0L turbocharged unit that belongs to Mahindra’s mStallion engine family. It will push out a peak power of 200bhp. The same gasoline motor powers the new Thar, where it makes 150bhp. The Hyundai Alcazar’s 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine delivers power worth 159bhp, which is significantly less than the XUV700.
Mahindra XUV700 Diesel Engine
The diesel model will be packed with a new 2.2L turbocharged mHawk motor that will produce a maximum power of 185bhp. It’s more powerful than the Alcazar, Hector Plus and Safari diesel. While Hyundai’s SUV comes with the 115bhp, 1.5L diesel engine, the Hector Plus and Safari use a 170bhp, 2.0L motor. The new Mahindra 7-seater SUV will come with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox options.
Mahindra XUV700 Features
The automaker has revealed that its upcoming 7-seater SUV will offer the segment’s largest panoramic sunroof, which is named Skyroof. The SUV will come with multiple class-leading features including 6-speakers Sony 3D sound system, smart door handles, Hello AdrenoX voice commands, Alexa voice AI system, dual screen setup, personalized safety alerts, driver drowsiness detection, auto booster headlamps and more. It will offer electrically adjustable driver seat with memory function. Features such as ventilated front seat, wireless smartphone charging, air purifier, 4 driving modes and automatic climate control will also be on offer.
Mahindra XUV700 Price Range (Expected)
The XUV700 could be priced as low as Rs 16 lakh for the entry-level variant and up to Rs 22 lakh for the top-end variant. Its arch rivals – Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Safari are currently available within the price range of Rs 16.30 lakh – Rs 20.14 lakh, Rs 13.96 lakh – Rs 19.94 lakh and Rs 14.99 lakh – Rs 22.01 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
