The Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV will be available with 2 engine options – a 110bhp, 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol and a 115bhp, 1.5-litre diesel.

The much-anticipated Mahindra XUV300 sub-4 meter SUV will finally go on sale in the country on February 14, 2019. Mahindra dealers have already started taking pre-orders for the compact SUV at a token amount of Rs 11,000. The SUV will be available in 4 trim levels W4, W6, W8 and W8(O) in petrol and diesel guise. The Mahindra XUV300 will directly rival the likes of the Ford EcoSport, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Honda WR-V and the Tata Nexon.

The Mahindra XUV300 will be powered by an all-new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. This petrol engine is capable of producing 110bhp of maximum power at 5,000rpm and a peak torque of 200Nm between 2000-3500rpm. On the other hand, the diesel version will get the 1.5-litre unit that currently powers the Marazzo MPV. However, this engine has been detuned to power the sub-4 meter SUV. While powering the XUV300, this engine produces 115bhp of power at 3,750rpm and 300Nm of torque at 1,500-2,500rpm. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. In terms of proportions, the Mahindra XUV300 is 3,995mm in length, 1,821mm in width and 1,627mm in height. The SUV comes with a best-in-segment wheelbase of 2,600, which translates into spacious cabin. The new SUV comes with a ground clearance of 180mm, which is decent for a sub-4 meter model. While the lower-spec variants ride on 16-inch steel wheels, the top-spec W8 and W8 Optional are available with 17-inch alloy wheels and 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels respectively. The Mahindra XUV300 is built on the SsangYong’s X100 platform that also underpins the Tivoli compact SUV. For suspension mechanism, the sub-4 meter SUV gets MacPherson strut with anti-roll bar upfront and a twist beam with coil springs at the rear. Also See – Upcoming Mahindra Cars

The all-new Mahindra XUV300 will be made available with best-in-league safety features like 7-airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, all-4 disc brakes, rear parking sensors, reverse camera, ESP (Electronic Stability Program) with hill hold assist. Adding to it, the compact SUV gets rear fog lamps, speed alert, a seatbelt reminder system and three point seat belt for middle seat in 2nd row.
