Mahindra XUV300 – 131bhp Variant, Facelift & Electric Version

Mahindra XUV300 subcompact SUV will soon receive a more powerful variant, followed by a mid-life update and an electric iteration in early 2023. First unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo, the production-ready version of the XUV300 Spotrz recently received ICAT (International Centre for Automotive Technology) certification. The model will feature the 1.2L, 3-cylinder direct-injection turbo petrol engine that will make a top power of 131bhp and 230Nm of torque.

Compared to the standard version, the Mahindra XUV300 Sportz will be 21bhp more powerful and 30Nm of torqueier. The 1.2L gasoline unit will also be boosted with the mild hybrid start-stop system that will reduce its emission levels and help meet the CAFÉ standards. Power will be delivered to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. As of now, there is no clarity whether the more powerful version will replace the existing petrol motor or sold alongside it.

2023 Mahindra XUV300 Sportz Specs

The 2022 Mahindra XUV300 facelift will come with improved styling and upmarket interior. Some of its design elements could be inspired by the XUV700. It will feature a larger front grille with bigger vertical chrome slats, full LED headlamps, newly-designed alloy wheels and revised taillamps. Inside, the subcompact SUV might get a new touchscreen infotainment system that could be borrowed from the XUV700. Engine setup will include the upcoming 131bhp, 1.2L petrol and the existing 110bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel units.

Mahindra XUV300 Electric

The Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV is reported to be named XUV400. Based on Mahindra’s MESMA platform, the model will measure 4.2 metre in length. No change will be made to its wheelbase. It could be offered with two battery pack options – Standard and Long-Range – offering range of around 200km and 375km respectively. Its design and styling will be slightly different from its ICE counterpart. The XUV400 will offer all-black interior with new seat upholstery, rear AC bents and a touchscreen infotainment system with piano black surrounds.
