Mahindra & Mahindra, the homegrown automaker will launch the new XUV300 facelift and the electric XUV300 in the country in early 2023. The 2023 Mahindra XUV300 facelift has been spotted testing multiple times. It will come with design changes & upgraded interior along with a more powerful engine option.
2023 Mahindra XUV300 – Engine Specs
Mahindra had showcased the new mStallion series of petrol engines at the 2020 Auto Expo. The company had unveiled the 1.2L, 1.5L and 2.0L turbo petrol engines. The 2.0L engine debuted on the new Thar lifestyle SUV and has also been offered with the XUV700. In fact, the upcoming Scorpio will also be equipped with this engine. The smaller capacity 1.2L turbo engine will debut in the 2023 Mahindra XUV300.
The company had showcased the XUV300 Sportz with the new 1.2L mStallion engine; however, this variant is yet to be launched in our market. The new engine features direct injection and cylinder heads with integrated exhaust manifolds for greater performance and efficiency. These engines are compliant with updated BSVI emission norms, which will be introduced in 2023.
The new 1.2L T-GDI engine is capable of producing 130bhp and 230Nm of torque that’s 20bhp and 30Nm more than the current 1.2L turbo petrol engine. The new engine is likely to be offered on the top-spec variants, while lower-spec model could continue with the existing motor. The diesel version will continue to be offered with the 1.5L engine. Instead of an AMT, the new XUV300 facelift could also get a proper automatic gearbox (torque convertor or DCT).
2023 Mahindra XUV300 – Design & Interior
The new XUV300 will receive design changes in-line with the new XUV700. It is expected to come with bolder design, featuring a larger & bolder grille with bigger vertical chrome slats. It is expected to get full LED headlamps, revised tail-lights, and new alloy wheels.
The 2023 Mahindra XUV300 facelift will come with an all-new interior, featuring an all-new dashboard and better quality material for upmarket look. It will come with a new touchscreen infotainment system, which is likely to be sourced from the XUV700. The touchscreen is likely to use a similar design for the user interface and tech that is offered on the XUV700’s infotainment.
Launch Timeline
Mahindra has officially announced that the new XUV300 facelift will be launched before the end of this financial year that’s April 2022 to March 2023. It is reportedly to be launched in December 2022 or January 2023.
