Mahindra & Mahindra has confirmed that it will launch the electric iteration of the XUV300 subcompact SUV in the first quarter of 2023. That means, the model will see a market release between January – March 2023. The new Mahindra XUV300 electric will take directly on India’s top-selling electric car – Tata Nexon EV. Here’re key details of the upcoming new Mahindra electric SUV that we know so far.
Bigger than ICE model
Dimensionally, the Mahindra e-XUV300 will be bigger than its petrol and diesel counterparts. Media reports suggest that it will measure 4.2 metre in length. Its wheelbase, however, will remain unchanged. With slightly longer built, the SUV’s electric version is likely to offer better boot space. The existing ICE version measures 3995mm in length, 1821mm in width and 1627mm in height.
Different Styling
Compared to its ICE counterparts, the Mahindra XUV300 electric will look slightly different. The blue accent on the front bumper and near around headlamps will highlight its electric nature. The electric SUV is likely to carry differently designed front grille, bumpers, alloy wheels and taillamps. In fact, its interior will also be different from the regular model. Platform, Powertrain
The Mahindra e-XUV300 will be the company’s first model to be designed on the Mahindra Electric Scalable and Modular Architecture (MESMA). Its official details are yet to be revealed. Though, the electric SUV is likely to come with 350V (Standard) and 380V (Long-Range) versions with two different battery packs. While the standard variant is likely to offer range around 200km, the long-range version will deliver around 375km.
Expected Price
Prices of the new Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV are expected to start from Rs 15 lakh and go up to Rs 19.50 lakh – Rs 20 lakh.
