We informed you earlier about the upcoming Mahindra XUV 500 facelift, which is scheduled to go on sale in the first half of 2015. Ahead of its launch in May, the first undisguised images of the XUV 500 facelift have hit the web world.
Mahindra designers have given changes to the front fascia of the ‘Cheetah-inspired’ SUV. The front features a new chrome grille, an all-new bumper with L-shaped foglamp enclosures, and new two-part headlamp clusters with extra chrome treatment and integrated daytime running lights. The new bumper has faux aluminum skid plate that offers sporty character to it.
Over the sides, the SUV largely remains unchanged. The flared wheel arches have been fitted to newly designed 10-spoke alloy wheels. At the back, the updated SUV gets larger, chrome garnish for licensing plate enclosure.
Under the bonnet is the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 140bhp of power and 330Nm of peak torque. This engine is coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox, which sends the power to either front-wheels or all-wheels of the SUV. The company is also working on the automatic variant of the SUV, which is also likely to go on sale by the festive season.
