Renault India will launch the much-awaited Renault Lodgy MPV in the country on April 9, 2015. Sold under Dacia badge in international markets, the Lodgy will be the second important car from Renault’s stable in the Indian car market. Set to rival against the likes of Toyota Innova, Honda Mobilio, Maruti Ertiga and the upcoming Chevrolet Spin, the large MPV will come in both seven-and -eight seater form. The seven-seater model will get the comfortable captain seats for the second row.
Renault Dealers have already started taking pre-bookings for the Lodgy at a token amount of Rs. 50,000. The vehicle will share its engine specs and features with the Duster SUV. It will be powered by the tried & tested 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine that is tuned to offer two power outputs- 84bhp/204Nm and 108bhp/240Nm. While the former is paired to a five-speed manual gearbox, the 108bhp motor is coupled to a six-speed gearbox.
The Lodgy MPV with 84bhp engine is claimed to return an impressive 21.4kmpl mileage, while the powerful unit offers 19.98kmpl of fuel efficiency. If reports are to be believed, both models will be offered in top-end RXZ trim. Talking about exterior styling, the Lodgy features chrome grille, large sweptback headlamps, body coloured ORVMs, side moulding and door handles. The wheel arches have been fitted to 15-inch alloy wheels, while the tailgate gets chrome finish.
