Mahindra Marazzo AMT To Launch Next Month – Report
Initially, the Mahindra Marazzo will receive a Magnetti-Marelli sourced AMT gearbox.
Mahindra Marazzo went on sale in India on 20th October, 2018. The premium 7-seater MPV is made available in four trims – M2, M4, M6 and M8 – with a 125bhp, 1.5L diesel and a 6-speed manual gearbox. While the existing powertrain is BS4-compliant, the carmaker will introduce the BS6-ready motor before April, 2020.
Prior to the engine upgrade, the company will launch the automatic version of the MPV. According to Autocar, the Mahindra Marazzo AMT (automated manual transmission) will see a release sometime next month (March, 2019). Initially, the MPV will receive a Magnetti-Marelli sourced AMT gearbox. Though, the carmaker will replace this unit with an Aisin-sourced torque convertor gearbox at a later stage. The Mahindra Marazzo AMT will be put up against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga automatic variant. The home-grown carmaker is also working on a petrol engine for the Marazzo MPV. It’s likely to be introduced when the BS6 emission norms come into effect from 1st April, 2020.
The Mahindra Marazzo has been made available with 7-seat and 8-seat configurations. Prices of the 7-seater models start from Rs 9.99 lakh and go up to Rs 14.29 lakh, while the 8-seater variants cost between Rs 9.99 lakh – Rs 14.37 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, India. Some of its key features include a chrome-toothed grille, double barrel headlamps with pilot lights, and eye-shaped foglamps with integrated LED DRLs, 17-inch alloys, shark-tail-inspired taillamps, foldable bench seat with a 40:20:40 split function, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with USB, Bluetooth & AUX-IN connectivity, dual-pod instrument console with a large MID unit, a roof-mounted air-con system with an industry-first surround cool technology, a new three-spoke steering wheel mounted controls and an automatic climate control.
