Kia Sonet Interior Spied; Interesting Details Revealed

Kia Sonet is all set to have its world premiere on coming 7th August. Ahead of its official unveiling, the production-ready model has been captured on the camera revealing some interesting exterior and interior details. The major talking point of the Sonet’s interior is a massive 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system borrowed from the Kia Seltos. The unit is likely to support the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SUV comes with a flat-bottomed multi function steering wheel and nice contoured seats. The badge on the steering and black leather seats with contrast stitching notifies that the spotted model is the fully-loaded GT Line trim. The interior layout and most features have been carried over from the Seltos. Though, the Sonet lacks 7.0-inch TFT LCD display for the MID. There is a smaller multi-colour unit with digital speedo readout.

 Some of its key features include Bose sound system, UVO connected car features, automatic climate control, electric sunroof, cruise control, steering mounted controls, wireless charging, auto-folding and adjustable ORVMs, a single rectangular enclosure covering digital instrument console and vertically stacked AC vents. With respect to safety, the Kia Sone is likely to offer multiple airbags, electronic stability program, traction control, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and camera, automatic headlamps and more. Though, the safety fitments will vary variant-wise.

The upcoming subcompact SUV from Kia will be offered with several engine-gearbox options, sourced from the Hyundai Venue. The range will include three units – 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5L diesel and a 1.0L turbo petrol generating power worth 82bhp with 114Nm, 99bhp with 240Nm and 118bhp with 172Nm respectively. While the naturally-aspirated petrol motor can be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the turbo-petrol and diesel units come with a 6-speed manual transmission. A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and iMT (intelligent manual transmission) are exclusively offered on the turbo petrol variant.
