Kia India Launch Plan – 4 Updated Utility Vehicles (UVs) In Pipeline

Kia India is set to embark on a product launch spree in the coming months, with at least four updated models in the pipeline. The highly anticipated Seltos will receive significant upgrades in July, followed by the Carens and Sonet facelifts in September and December, respectively. Additionally, the 4th generation Kia Carnival will make its debut in the first half of 2024.

The 2023 Kia Seltos facelift will make its India debut on July 4th, with the market launch to follow. This time, the SUV will be equipped with a new 160bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol engine paired with a DCT automatic gearbox. However, this engine-gearbox combo might be reserved for the GT Line trim, while the existing 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and diesel engines will also be carried over from the pre-facelift version.

The SUV’s GT Line variants will exclusively offer ADAS tech, and a panoramic sunroof will be available from the mid-spec trim onwards. The Seltos will feature dual-zone climate control and a new control panel for the first time. Noticeable changes will also be made to its exterior.

Speculations suggest that the 2023 Kia Carens might also receive the ADAS tech. This MPV, known for its practicality and value for money proposition, is expected to come with a new touchscreen infotainment system, an updated instrument cluster, new seat upholstery, and a panoramic sunroof. The new updated Kia Sonet facelift is likely to receive minimal changes inside and out. Both UVs will continue to be equipped with their existing engine setup.

2023 Kia Carnival India Launch

The new-generation Kia Carnival, previously showcased as Kia KA4 at this year’s Auto Expo, will feature the brand’s new design language. The MPV will grow in size and come with the ADAS safety assistance system. Key feature upgrades will include a new dual-tone interior theme, a dual 12.3-inch screen setup, the new ‘rear passenger view & talk’ feature, and more.
