2023 Kia Carnival (KA4) – SUV-ish Design, More Space, Features

The Korean automaker, Kia has finally unveiled the new gen Carnival MPV (KA4) at the ongoing Auto Expo 2023. Called the Kia KA4, the new model will be branded as the Recreational Vehicle. Alongside fourth-gen new Kia Carnival, Kia has also showcased the EV9 electric SUV concept, new Sorento 3-row SUV, EV6 electric crossover and special editions of its existing range at the 16th edition of Indian Auto Expo.

New Kia Carnival Design

Instead of a cab-forward MPV-like styling, the fourth-gen Kia Carnival adopts a more SUV-like look with angular surfaces and squared-off stance. Featuring a bold and boxy appearance, the new KA4 comes with brand’s new design language which we have already seen on rugged UVs including Kia Telluride, Sorento and Seltos.

The new Carnival comes with Kia’s signature “tiger nose” front grille with diamond pattern and chrome along with angular headlamps and LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps). The SUV comes with shorter front overhang, and the base of the A-pillar moved backwards to create a longer hood. The high-beam lamps are placed on the corner of the grille, while the low beam lamps are positioned separately at the outer edges of the front. The DRLs wrap around the Carnival’s turn signal lamps. The sculpted bumper has wider air intake, fog lamp enclosure and metallic trim. There is a strong beltline that runs across the length of the new Carnival, linking the front and rear lamps. The new Kia Carnival has a unique ‘island roof’ design, which is a blacked-out A- and B-pillars and the body-coloured roof. The stylish C-pillar signature design is inspired by the Sorento. The rear profile has been adorned by LED tail-lamps connected via a large LED light bar. There is a chrome bar positioned above the LED light and wraps around the base of the rear window and the rear side windows.

Kia Carnival or KA4 Interior & features

The cabin of the new model is completely different from the outgoing model. Featuring dual-tone beige and brown interior scheme, the new Carnival comes with two 12.3-inch screens for the touchscreen infotainment system and instrument console. The two screens are enclosed in a single frame, offering a premium look. Several functions can be controlled using touch-sensitive buttons around the screen. A similar panel placed down the center console for the climate control system.
