Triumph-Bajaj Bikes Teased Ahead of Debut On June 27; India Launch In July

The long-awaited Triumph’s affordable motorcycles will make their global debut on June 27, 2023. Developed in collaboration with Bajaj, the new motorcycle will be introduced in India in the first week of July 2023. Ahead of the official debut, Triumph India has released a teaser that shows the glimpses of the upcoming motorcycle. The company will introduce two motorcycles – a roadster and a scrambler in our market.

Bajaj Auto is playing an important role in Triumph’s entry in the fast growing middle-weight motorcycle segment. The company will introduce new single-cylinder bikes in the highly competitive entry-level, mid-capacity segment, which is currently dominated by Royal Enfield. These single-cylinder bikes have been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads.

The new Triumph Scrambler is likely to share the styling cues from the bigger Triumph Bonneville family of motorcycles, featuring a neo-retro design language with a simplistic design with modern treatment. The Scrambler will have a relaxed riding position, a single exhaust exist, a rear grab handle for the pillion, a single-piece seat & bar-end mirrors. The motorcycle ha a retro-styled LED headlights, a simplsitic fuel tank and exposed frame.

The roadster is likely to share design cues from Triumph’s street lineup. It will come with USD front forks, a rear mono shock, disc brakes, round-shaped LED headlamps and alloy wheels. The new motorcycles are likely to be powered by a 400cc or KTM’s 373cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with power close to 35-40bhp and over 40Nm of torque. The performance figures for the motorcycle are likely to be similar to the KTM 390 Adventure. 

Likely to be priced around Rs 2.5 lakh, the Triumph-Bajaj Roadster will rival the Honda CB300R, and the upcoming Harley-Davidson 440X and the RE Hunter 450. The Scrambler is likely to cost around 2.8 lakh and rill rival the RE Scram 411, Yezdi Scrambler and others.
