Kia Carnival Launch at Auto Expo 2020 – New Details Emerge
Korean automaker, Kia is all set to launch its second product in the form of Carnival MPV in the country. Dealers have unofficially started taking pre-orders for the MPV. Scheduled to be launched at the 2020 Auto Expo, the upcoming Kia Carnival MPV is likely to be priced around Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be introduced as a premium alternative to the Toyota Innova Crysta.
The Kia Carnival MPV will be powered by a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. This engine will churn out 200bhp of power at 3,800rpm and 440Nm of torque between 1,750-2,750rpm. The report further claims that the engine will be paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
The Kia Carnival will be offered in 3 seating configurations – six, seven and eight-seats. While the entry-level model will come as an 8-seater with decent features, the top-spec model is likely to be the six-seater and will be kitted with high-end comfort and convenience features.
Exterior design highlights of the top-end Carnival will include the signature ‘Tiger Nose’ grille, a floating roofline, integrated rear spoiler, LED lighting (headlight, fog lights and tail-lights), and skid plates. The MPV will ride on machined 18-inch alloy wheels.
For passengers’ safety and security, the Kia Carnival will be equipped with features like six airbags, traction control and electronic stability control, hill-start assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system, a rear parking camera, parking sensors, automatic defogger and an electronic parking brake.
The MPV will be loaded with high-end comfort and convenience features like powered tailgate, keyless entry and go, wireless charging, power adjustable seats, ventilated driver’s seat, cruise control, power windows, 3-zone climate control, a dual-pane powered sunroof and Nappa leather upholstery. It will be fitted with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with eSIM for connectivity features and Harman Kardon sound system. The MPV will also get the Kia’s UVO Connect in-car connectivity suite. There will be two 10.1-inch screen for the rear occupants.
The Kia Carnival will offer 540-litres of boot space with all three rows in position. The luggage carrying capacity can be further extended to ,624-litres and 2,759-litres by folding the second and third-row respectively.
