Kia Seltos Is A Huge Hit – Bookings Cross 1 Lakh Mark
The Kia Seltos compact SUV has crossed the 1 lakh bookings mark since its launch in August, 2019. The SUV is currently the best-selling SUV in its category, beating the likes of Hyundai Creta and Renault Duster. The diesel variants of the Kia Seltos has also received positive response.
A good chunk of bookings come from the top-end GTX+ (1.4L T-GDI petrol), HTX (1.5L diesel) variants. The top-end trim comes with 1.4L turbocharged petrol – DCT automatic gearbox combination and 1.5L diesel – automatic gearbox option. The SUV currently commands a waiting period of around 3 months across variants.
The Kia Seltos is available with 3 engine options, and all have automatic options as well. The automatic variants also received excellent response from buyers. Speaking to carandbike, Manohar Bhat, VP and Head (Sales & Marketing), Kia Motors India said, “2019 has been an outstanding year for Kia Motors India. The year saw multiple launches and new vehicles in the automobile industry and we are glad that Seltos received the strongest response and appreciation amongst all. Despite the prolonged slowdown, we delivered a huge number of Seltos.”
The Kia Seltos is available with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol. All engines are compliant with BSVI emission norms. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, torque convertor automatic with diesel, CVT automatic with 1.5L petrol and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with the turbocharged petrol engine. The Kia Seltos is available in the price bracket of Rs 9.69 lakh to Rs 15.99 lakh.
The Korean brand is all set to launch its second product in the form of Grand Carnival in India. Set to be launched in January-February 2020, the new Kia Carnival will be introduced as a premium alternative to the Toyota Innova Crysta. Adding to it, the Korean brand is readying a sub-4 meter SUV, codenamed QYi. Rumoured to be called the Kia Sonet, the compact SUV will make debut at the 2020 Auto Expo.
