Jeep Compass has been the turnaround product for the American SUV maker in the Indian market. In fact, FCA India started gaining huge traction since it opened bookings for the SUV in June 2017. In just four months of its arrival in the market, the Compass crossed the 10,000 sales mark. Now, the SUV achieved yet another sales mark in the country.
Jeep sold over 19,000 units of the Made-in-India Compass that includes 5,000 units of the export markets. These figures have been achieved in just 8 months of its launch. While 80% sales come from the diesel model, the remaining is for the petrol variants. In the first quarter of 2018, Jeep has already delivered over 6000 units of the Compass. Just so you know, the SUV recently achieved a production milestone of 25,000 units.
Production of the Compass takes place at FCA’s Ranjangaon based facility near Pune. The company invested around $280 million in the development of the SUV at its plant. To commemorate International Jeep 4X4 Day, FCA introduced the Jeep 4X4 Month campaign starting from April 4 and ending on April 30, 2018. Under this programme, the company encourages customers who are planning to buy 4X2 variant of the SUV to upgrade for the Limited 4X4 trim. The upgrade will cost additional Rs 50,000.
