Electric car segment has been growing in India. In coming years, we will witness several new EV launches from car manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Tata, MG, Kia and Hyundai. The 2022 MG ZS EV is reported to hit roads in the month of February. The model will come with slightly improved styling, a more upmarket interior and a bigger battery pack. The electric SUV will be available with a new 51kWh battery pack offering a range around 480km. Some of its features are likely to be sourced from the Astor including ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), PM 2.5 filter, powered driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, electronic power steering, multiple USB charging ports, automatic AC unit and rain sensing wipers.

The new 2022 Hyundai Kona EV facelift receives a few noticeable changes inside and out. The SUV features slightly updated front and rear bumpers, newly-designed headlamps, new set of alloy wheels, wheel arches with body colour finish and less body cladding. The new model misses out on the front grille. Inside, there is a 10.25-inch infotainment system, safe exit warning, blindspot assistance and updated BlueLink connected car tech. For power, the new Kona EV will use the 39.2kWh battery and 136bhp electric motor. This time around, the SUV might also be offered with a larger battery pack.

India’s top-selling electric car – Tata Nexon EV – will come with the bigger battery pack promising longer range. It’s one of the much-awaited upcoming electric SUVs in the country. If reports are to be believed, the new model will offer a range of around 400km on a full charge. Currently, it comes with the 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery delivering power worth 127bhp against 245Nm. Minor changes will also be made to its design and interior. The 2022 Tata Nexon EV will get newly-designed, dual-tone diamond cut alloys along with a few new goodies.
