Prices of the new Skoda Slavia mid-size sedan will be announced in the first week of March 2022. Though, the model will start arriving at showrooms from 10th February. The information comes from Zac Hollis, Director of Sales, Service and Marketing of Skoda Auto.
Replying to a tweet, he revealed that the Slavia’s price reveal, launch and customer deliveries will begin from the first week of the next month. It will be the company’s second product to come under its India 2.0 Strategy.
Similar to the Kushaq, the new Skoda sedan underpins the heavily localized MQB-A0 IN platform. Compared to its replacement – Rapid, the Skoda Slavia sedan is bigger and has more features on-board. Read – Upcoming Skoda, Volkswagen Cars In Early 2022
The new sedan measures 4541mm in length, 1752mm in width and 1487mm in height, thus making it 128mm longer, 53mm wider and 21mm taller than the Rapid. It sits on a 2651mm long wheelbase and offers the largest boot space in its segment – i.e. 521-litre.
Interior of the new Skoda sedan looks similar to the Kushaq. Elements such as interior trims, switchgear, AC vents, two-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, knurled buttons, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system and touch-based climate control panel are carried forward from its SUV sibling. Though, it gets round air-con vents on sides instead of the hexagonal units. The Slavia has a full digital instrument panel with three different themes.
Furthermore, the sedan has several comfort goodies including leather upholstery, wireless charger, ventilated seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, keyless entry, automatic climate control, an electric sunroof, an auto dimming internal rear view mirror and LED headlamps and taillamps.
In order to provide safety, the Skoda Slavia has 6 airbags, a tyre pressure monitor, an electronic differential system (EDS), electronic stability control (ESC), a rear parking camera, Isofix child seat mounts, multi collision brake and optional hill hold control.
The Slavia model lineup will be spread across three trim levels – Active, Ambition and Style. There will be two turbocharged petrol engine options – 1.0L, 3-cylinder TSI and 1.5L, 4-cylinder TSI delivering claimed power of 115bhp with 178Nm and 150bhp with 250Nm.
