Mahindra XUV700
Mahindra XUV700 is high-in-demand among SUV buyers. The SUV is currently witnessing a waiting period of up to 18 months, depending on variant and colour. Prices of the XUV700 start from Rs 12.95 lakh for the entry-level variant and go up to Rs 23.79 lakh for the fully-loaded variant. The model lineup comes with the 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol and 2.2L mHawk turbo diesel engines delivering power worth 200bhp and 155bhp (for the lower variants)/185bhp (for higher variants) respectively.
Mahindra Thar
Mahindra’s Thar compact off-road SUV is the second SUV to hold the highest waiting period in the country. It commands a waiting period of up to 12 months. At present, the model comes within the price range of Rs 13.17 lakh – Rs 15.53 lakh. The new Thar can be had with either a 152bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol or 132bhp, 2.2L turbo diesel engine. It gets 4X4 system and a manual shift transfer case with a low ratio as standard.
Hyundai Creta
Hyundai Creta is one of the top-selling SUVs in the country. It has witnessed a significant YoY sales decline of 21.5 percent in February 2022. The Creta has a waiting period of up to 10 months. The model is currently available within the price range of Rs 10.23 lakh – Rs 17.94 lakh. Tata Punch
Tata Punch commands a waiting period of up to 7 months in select cities. The company has retailed over 32,000 units of its smallest SUV since its launch in mid October 2021. The mini SUV has been offered with the 1.2L petrol engine producing a peak power of 86bhp with 113Nm of torque. Recently, the automaker has increased prices across its range.
Kia Seltos/Sonet
Kia’s Seltos and Sonet SUVs observe a waiting period of up to 6 months, depending on variants. While the Sonet is available in the price range of Rs 6.95 lakh – Rs 13.69 lakh, the Seltos costs between Rs 9.95 lakh – Rs 18.19 lakh. Engine setup of the Seltos includes a 115bhp, 1.5L petrol, a 140bhp, 1.4L turbo petrol and a 115bhp, 1.5L diesel unit. The Sonet can be had with three engines – 83bhp, 1.2L NA petrol, 120bhp, 1.0L turbo perol and 100bhp, 1.5L turbo diesel.
