Most car manufacturers update their existing models in every 2-3 years. Here’re key details of India’s top 5 SUVs, which are ready to receive mid-life updates in 2022 or 2023. The lineup includes Hyundai Creta and Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Harrier and MG Hector.

The Hyundai Venue facelift will soon receive a major update. Most of the changes will be cosmetic such as a newly-designed parametric grille, new rectangular shaped headlamps, differently designed alloy wheels, new tailgate with L-shaped taillamps with new LED inserts and slightly tweaked rear bumper with a new faux skid plate. The carmaker might make more safety features standard across the model lineup. There could be an updated touchscreen infotainment system and a new BlueLink connected car tech. 2022 Hyundai Creta Facelift

After the Venue, the South Korean automaker will update its top-selling SUV – Creta. While its official launch details are yet to be revealed, the model is reported to arrive in the second half of 2022. Major changes will be made to its design and interior including the brand’s new parametric grille with LED DRLs, updated bumpers, new LED taillamps, revised tailgate design with sharp creases, a new 10.25-inch digital instrument console and updated Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car tech. 2023 Mahindra XUV300

The home-grown automaker is ready to launch the Mahindra XUV300 facelift and XUV300 EV early next year. The former will receive comprehensive changes inside and out along with the segment’s most powerful engine. The 2023 Mahindra XUV300 will be offered with a new 1.2L mStallion petrol engine, which was previewed at the last edition of Delhi Auto Expo. The motor has been boosted with direct injection and cylinder heads with integrated exhaust manifolds that enhance its overall performance. It makes a top power of 130bhp and 230Nm of torque. 2022 MG Hector Features

MG Hector facelift is currently in its testing phase and it’s reported to launch sometime this year. Speculations are on rife that the SUV’s new model might have ADAS system similar to the Astor and Gloster. Though, it could be exclusively offered on the top-end Savvy trim. In terms of features, the new Hector could get the updated infotainment system offering better user interface. A few significant changes are likely to be made. For power, the 2022 MG Hector facelift will use the same 1.5L turbo petrol (141bhp/250Nm) and 2.0L diesel (168bhp/350Nm) engines. The gasoline unit might feature the mild hybrid system. 2023 Tata Harrier facelift

Tata Motors is reportedly working on the Harrier facelift that might hit roads in the first half of 2023. The project has been internally known as Q5MCE. Details of the 2023 Tata Harrier facelift is scanty at the moment. Though, the SUV is likely to witness significant design changes such as a newly-designed grille, updated front bumper, new headlamps and new alloy wheels. If reports are to be believed, the new Harrier could get ADAS along with a 360 degree camera and electronic parking brake. Features such as a fully digital instrument cluster and ambient lighting will also be on offer. Its suspension system might also be tuned.
