New Tata Harrier Facelift – ADAS, 360° Camera, Petrol Engine

Tata Harrier has been generating volume for the home-grown automaker ever since its launch in 2018. The SUV received its first minor update in early 2020 and now it’s reported to witness a noticeable mid-life update. While there is no official word on the product details and its launch timeline, a fresh media report claims that new Tata Harrier facelift will arrive in the first half of 2023. This time around, the model will receive some advanced technologies and a petrol engine. Significant cosmetic changes might also be made to the vehicle. To be developed under the project name – Q5MCE, the new Tata Harrier facelift will have a heavily revised front fascia. It will feature a newly-designed grille and headlamps and slightly tweaked bumper. The carmaker might also equip it with new set of alloy wheels. The rear section will also be revised, though details are not available yet.

The report further said that the 2023 Tata Harrier could be offered with the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) making to safer than the existing model. The suite offers multiple safety features to prevent collisions and road accidents. The SUV will also have a 360 degree camera that will help driver with parking in both forward and reverse direction. The new Harrier is likely to come with an updated infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, electronic parking brake and ambient lighting.

As mentioned above, the Harrier facelift will come with a petrol engine along with the existing diesel powertrain. The carmaker has been testing a new 1.5L turbocharged gasoline motor that’s reported to be the calibrated version of the 1.2L Revotron unit. Its power will be around 150bhp. Rumour has it that the new Tata Harrier petrol will be made available with automatic gearbox, paddle shifters and multiple drive modes. In order to improve its comfort quotient, the automaker might tune its suspension setup.
