Maruti Grand Vitara/Hyryder – 27.97kmpl
Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara and Toyota’s Hyryder are the top high-mileage SUVs in the country. Both models come with a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5L Atkinson cycle powertrain making 103bhp and 114bhp respectively. A 5-speed manual gearbox is standard, while a 6-speed automatic is optional with the naturally aspirated petrol engine. The strong hybrid version can be had with an e-CVT transmission. Kia Sonet – 24.2kmpl
Kia’s Sonet is among the high-mileage SUVs that are currently available in the market. The subcompact SUV comes with the 1.0L turbo petrol, 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5L turbo diesel engine options. It reports are to be believed, the carmaker will discontinue diesel manual variants of the Sonet towards the end of this year. Kia claims that the SUV’s diesel manual and automatic version promise a fuel efficiency of 24.2kmpl and 19kmpl respectively. Hyundai Venue is available with the same set of engines that are offered on the Kia Sonet. That means, the subcompact SUV can be had with the 82bhp, 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol, 118bhp, 1.0L turbo petrol and 99bhp, 1.5L diesel engine options.
