Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder Waiting Period Details

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder are among the top new car launches of this year. Both SUVs have been receiving overwhelming response from buyers and command a waiting period of up to 5 months. One must note that the waiting period vary variant and location-wise. In October 2022, the Indo-Japanese automaker retailed over 8,000 units of the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota managed to sell 3,384 units of the Hyryder.

Both SUVs come with the 103hp, 1.5-litre K15C petrol mild-hybrid and 92bhp, 1.5L, three-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine options. The latter has an electric motor delivering a claimed power of 79bhp and 141Nm of torque. With an e-CVT automatic gearbox, it offers a combined power of 115bhp. The mild hybrid setup can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The AWD system is only available with the top-end mild-hybrid manual variants of the SUVs. It promises a fuel efficiency of 21.11kpl with manual gearbox, 20.58kpl with automatic gearbox and 19.38kpl with manual-AWD combination. The strong hybrid powertrain returns a claimed mileage of 27.97kmpl.

The higher trims of the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder are equipped with features such as all-black interior, a panoramic sunroof, a 7.0-inch fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, Head-up display, leatherette steering wheel, black leatherette seats, ventilated front seats, puddle lamps, upgraded sound system, 360 degree camera, tyre pressure monitor, hill descent control, driver mode selector (AWD variants only), silver roof rails, dark grey front and rear skid plates and dual-tone exterior colour options.

The automakers are all set to introduce CNG versions of the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder SUVs. Both models will come with the 1.5L K15C petrol mild hybrid powertrain and a 5-speed manual gearbox. Mileage figure will stand at 26.10km/kg. The power and torque figures of the Grand Vitara CNG and Hyryder CNG are still under the wraps.
