Hyundai had launched the Venue sub-4 meter SUV in the Indian market on May 21, 2019. The SUV has been receiving overwhelming response from buyers. The sub-4 meter SUV has recorded a total of 80,000 bookings in less than 6 months. In fact, the last 40,000 bookings for the SUV were recorded in last 30 days.
Priced between Rs 6.5 lakh and Rs 11.1 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new Hyundai Venue directly rivals the Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300 and the segment-leading Maruti Vitara Brezza. The top-spec SX DCT and the SX(O) trims with the BlueLink connected car technology have seen the maximum demand.
The compact SUV is available in 3 engine options – a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.4-litre CRDi diesel and a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. While the naturally aspirated petrol engine is good for 82bhp and 114Nm, the turbocharged unit delivers 118bhp and 172Nm. The oil burner is capable of producing 89bhp and 220Nm of torque.
While the 1.2L petrol engine is paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the diesel engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine is available with 2 transmission choices – a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Called the connected SUV, the Hyundai Venue comes fitted with the BlueLink technology that offers 33 connectivity features out of which 10 are India specific. The connectivity features include geo-fencing, SOS, panic notifications, speed alerts, road-side assistance, destination sharing and more.
