The Hyundai Venue compact SUV is based on the new Santro’s platform, which will also underpin the next-generation Grand i10.

The much-awaited Hyundai Venue compact SUV will make its global debut on April 17, 2019. Ahead of the debut, clear pictures of the SUV have hit the internet. The vehicle was spotted at a dealership stockyard, revealing the exterior design highlights and interiors. The new model will be based on the new Santro’s platform, which will also underpin the next-generation Grand i10.

The new Hyundai Venue compact SUV shares the styling cues from the bigger SUVs like Kona, Palisade and the Santa Fe. This is clearly evident from the front design, featuring cascading grille with chrome treatment, twin-vertical layout for headlamps with LED daytime running lights and turn indicators on the top. It gets wide bumper with grey plastic cladding, mesh-type lower air-intake and faux silver skid plate.

The new Hyundai Venue features a newly designed machined-cut all0oy wheels, which seems 16-inch in size. The rear profile is completely new, featuring wide glasshouse area, sculpted bumper with wraparound tail-lights, Venue nameplate on the bootlid and big bumper. The spotted model is the top-end SX trim, which is expected to be the most feature-loaded in its category. The SUV also gets body-coloured ORVMs with integrated blinkers.

The new Hyundai Venue compact SUV interior looks premium and feature-loaded. The SUV gets all-black interior scheme with clutter free design for the dashboard. The vehicle gets a free-standing large touchscreen infotainment system, which is flanked by C-shaped AC Vents with chrome surround, big knobs for AC controls and other functions. The SUV also gets keyless entry with Push start/stop button, digital instrument console, multi-functional steering wheel, etc.

The Hyundai Venue will be the first car in its category to offer built-in advanced connected technologies. It comes fitted to ‘Hyundai BlueLink’ connectivity solution, which will offer 33 features out of which 10 would be India specific features. It provides first in Industry safety features like like Vehicle Theft Tracking and Immobilization for recovery of stolen vehicles. Other features include the Speed Alert, Geo Fence Alert, Panic Notification and Share Destination. Hyundai BlueLink has an in-built and tamper-proof device powered by Vodafone eSIM and a Cloud-based Voice Recognition platform from Global AI Company. The device will provide Real Time Traffic navigation and Live Local Search in collaboration with a global Map company.

The Hyundai Venue will be available with 2 petrol and 1 diesel engine options. The petrol version will receive the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged and a 1.4-litre unit, producing 100bhp and 99bhp respectively. The diesel version will get the 89bhp, 1.4-litre U2 CRDi engine. The 1.0-litre petrol engine will be paired to a dual-clutch automatic gearbox, making it the only model to offer this gearbox. A six-speed manual gearbox driving the power to the front wheels will come as standard.
