Hyundai Elite i20 1.4L Diesel Discontinued – Details Here
Hyundai India has removed the Elite i20 diesel from its official website. This means, the premium hatchback is now available with the BS6-compliant 1.2L petrol engine only. The gasoline motor is good enough for 83bhp and 114Nm of torque. It comes with a manual and a CVT automatic gearbox option.
The Hyundai Elite i20 diesel model was available with a 1.4L motor pushing out a peak power of 89bhp against 220Nm of torque. The premium hatchback will be offered with petrol engine only until its third-generation model arrives in the country.
Scheduled to launch in June, the 2020 Hyundai Elite i20 will be made available with a 1.5L, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. The same powertrain also does duty in the second-generation Creta and Venue subcompact SUV. The 1.5L oil burner delivers a peak power of 115bhp and 250Nm of torque. It can be had either with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
The new Elite i20 diesel will be around 10bhp more powerful and 15Nm torqueier than its replacement. The hatchback’s new-generation model will also get the 1.0L turbo petrol engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
At present, the BS6 Hyundai i20 petrol comes in the price range of Rs 5.59 lakh – Rs 9.2 lakh (all, ex-showroom). It takes directly on the cars like Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Toyota Glanza.
