Honda Activa Becomes India’s First Automatic Scooter To Cross 20 Million Mark
Honda Activa is the largest-selling two-wheeler scooter in India and the world.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter (HMSI) today announced that its highly popular Activa automatic scooter brand has achieved 20 million sales mark in the Indian market. Perhaps, it’s the largest-selling two-wheeler scooter in India and the world. Speaking on the occasion, Minoru Kato, president and CEO, HMSI, said “Over 18 years and five generations, Honda 2Wheelers India continuously added value to exceed customers expectations and make the Activa the most preferred choice of two-wheeler buyers.”

If we take a look at Honda Activa’s India innings, the scooter was launched n 2001 and registered 55,000 units sales within first year of its arrival. It crossed 500,000 units and 1 million units sales mark in 2003 and 2005 respectively. The Activa becomes India’s first scooter to sell over 10 million units in 2015.
