Upcoming Honda Bikes Scooters In India

After acquiring zenith in the gearless scooter segment with its stellar model Activa, Honda has set its sight on the bikes. While the two-wheeler division of the Japanese manufacturer already retails some of the best-selling models, the company has lined-up more launches to expand its portfolio. Here we have listed all upcoming Honda bikes in India in 2018 & 2019 with their specifications, features and other details, have a look.

1. Updated Honda Navi

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) will soon introduce a slightly more powerful version of the Navi mini bike. If media reports are to be believed, the model lineup will be upgraded with a slightly more powerful and fuel economical engine. Besides this, the vehicle will receive some additional new features and two new paint schemes. The company is also reportedly working on new personalization options of the Navi. It will also get combi-braking system (CBS) as standard fitment.

Currently, the mini-bike comes with a 110cc, four-cylinder, air-cooled SI engine that produces a peak power of 7.72bhp and 9Nm of torque. This motor is boosted with Honda Eco Technology (HET) along with a V-Matic gearbox.

2. Honda XRE 300

Among the slew of upcoming Honda bikes, the one that comes on the second spot of our list is the XRE 300. The Honda XRE 300 will be an adventurer tourer and will be positioned against the segment leader Royal Enfield Himalayan. Just so you know, Honda has even patented this bike in India. And if all goes as planned, this bike could see a release sometime this year.

At the heart of the bike will be a 291.6cc, fuel-injected, single cylinder engine pushing out a maximum power output of 25.4bhp against 27.6Nm torque. Transmission duties will be carried out by the 5-speed gearbox. Some of its key features will include a new digital instrumentation with a small LCD, 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, long travel telescopic fork up front and a pro link monoshock rear suspension unit, dual disc brakes with ABS.

3. Honda Rebel 300

The next on our list of upcoming Honda bikes is the Honda Rebel 300 cruiser motorcycle. Designed and developed locally, the new Honda cruiser is estimated to be priced around Rs 2 lakh. If launched at this price point, it will be take on the Royal Enfield Thunderbird and Bajaj Dominar 400.

For generating power, this upcoming Honda bike will use the same engine that powers the Honda CB300R- i.e. 286cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled PGM-FI. Though, it will be modified slightly for achieving better performance. Power output of the updated motor will stand at 27bhp and torque will be around 24Nm. In addition, it will come with the new 41mm front forks with 4.8-inch travel and Dual shocks at rear with 3.8-inch travel suspension unit. As for safety and security, the bike will receive hydraulic disc front and rear brakes with ABS.

4. Honda CBR300R

In the company’s Indian product lineup, the new Honda CBR300R will replace the 250R. Just to jog your memory, the bike was first showcased four years ago at the 2013 China International Motorcycle Trade exhibition and is now likely to venture into the Indian market. The Honda CBR300R is essentially the larger version of the CBR 250R that will measure 2035mm in length, 720mm in width and 1120m in height. While it will get 145mm of ground clearance, the bike will ride on the 110/70-17M/C front and 140/70-17M/C rear tyres.

In terms of design, it will share cues with higher CBR models, though Honda will add new bits for a more aggressive look. While the handlebar and the instrument console will be retained from the 250R. Powering the new bike will be the 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid -cooled fuel-injected engine that will be paired to a six-speed transmission. This motor will deliver a maximum power output of 30.4bhp along with 27Nm of torque.

5. Honda PCX150

One of the much-awaited upcoming Honda scooters is the PCX150 moto scooter . The scooter made a brief appearance at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi, though the showcased model featured a 125cc unit, the final product is likely to get the larger 150cc engine. The engine in question is a 153cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke, SOHC, liquid-cooled PGM-FI unit with maximum power of 13.4bhp against 14Nm torque. Transferring power to the wheels will be a V-Matic automatic gearbox. Upon its launch, the Honda PCX150 scooter will lock horns against the Aprilia SR 150 and the Vespa 150 in the segment.

6. Honda Scoopy

Another model that could also come to India is the Scoopy model. The scooter is already available in the U.S market where it is sold under the ‘Metropolitan’ nameplate. Besides, it is also available in the Indonesian market. If launched in India, the scooter is likely to come with a 109.19cc carburetted engine that powers the Honda Activa 4G. The BSIV compliant engine makes maximum power of 8bhp against 9Nm of torque. Upon its launch, the Scoopy model will take on the likes of Fascino and Vespa. In Indonesia, the model comes with features including LED projector headlamp, parking b rake and idling stop system, however it is not clear if these features will be offered with the Indian model.
