Datsun Go hatchback

Nissan’s low cost brand Datsun is all set to launch its first product, Go hatchback in the Indian car market. Dealers have already started taking pre-orders for the hatchback with a minimum token amount of Rs. 11,000, which is refundable. Media reports suggest that the deliveries are expected to commence from March 15, however nothing has been confirmed on the same.

The Datsun Go hatchback is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 3-4 lakh, and it is expected that the model will be made available in three variants and 4 different colours. Talking about the features to be offered with Datsun Go hatch, it includes front power windows, power steering, air conditioning and mobile docking station. Its spacious cabin is what stands this model ahead of its competition. Based on the old Micra platform, it measures 3785mm in length, 1635mm in width and 1485mm in height. With ample legroom, head and shoulder space, the Go hatchback offers comfortable seat for five passengers.

Under the hood, the Datsun Go gets the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that also does duty to Micra hatchback. This engine is capable of developing a top power output of 64bhp and 104Nm of torque, and delivers an impressive fuel economy of 20.6kmpl. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.
