Bajaj Auto has recently launched the highly-anticipated Pulsar 200 RS in the country. The company will also launch an all-new Pulsar on April 14th, 2015. Interestingly, Bajaj Auto has been testing the Pulsar 200 AS (Adventure Sport) on Indian roads, which will be slotted between the Pulsar 200 NS and 200 RS. The company has already started dispatching the Pulsar 200 AS to its dealerships, suggesting that the all-new Pulsar to be launched on April 14th could be the 200AS.
Based on the 200 NS platform, the 200AS features an attractive half-fairing with additional features. It is equipped with ‘Adventure Sport’ decal, a projector headlmap and alloy wheels, shared with its naked sibling.
Essential features like the semi-digital instrument cluster, the grab rails and the alloy footrests are borrowed from the 200NS. This will allow the company to keep its price down. The bike misses out on Anti-lock braking system, but it will get disc brakes for both front and rear wheels.
It will be powered by the same liquid-cooled 199.5cc single-cylinder engine that also powers the 200NS and 200RS. This engine is good for 23.52PS of power at 9,500rpm and 18.3Nm of torque at 8,000rpm. The engine will be linked to a six-speed gearbox.
