All-New Alto & WagonR To Debut In Next 3-4 Months

Maruti Suzuki is working on a handful of new models, which are slated to arrive in the next couple of years. The plan outlines multiple facelifts, new-generation models and all-new products. The Indo-Japanese has already started testing the new-generation Maruti Alto hatchback in the country. Reports suggest that its production model will debut in January 2022 in Japan, which will be followed by its India launch.

Set for the generation change, the hatch will receive significant changes in terms of design and features. While it will be upgraded to the lightweight Heartech platform, the engine setup is likely to remain unchanged. The 2022 Maruti Alto will continue to carry the signature upright and boxy stance with short overhangs. The new front grille and headlamps, revised bumper and newly designed taillamps could be a few visual changes.

New 2022 WagonR Launch

The hatch might witness a minor dimensional change. Its interior could be revised with a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s likely to support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The list of features might include a new instrument cluster, steering mounted controls, all power windows and keyless entry.

As mentioned above, the 2022 Maruti Alto will continue to come with the 769cc, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that’s good for 48bhp and 69Nm. If reports are to be believed, it might get the SHVS mild hybrid tech and CNG variants.

The new-generation Suzuki WagonR (7th gen) will have its world debut in December 2021 in Japan. One must note that it won’t come to India. The hatchback is currently in its third generation in the country. The 2022 Suzuki WagonR will carry an entirely new front fascia with new grille, revised headlamps, air dam and bonnet. Other design updates will include a new set of alloy wheels, flat door panels, new squarish arches and newly-designed taillamps.
