8 New Cars Prices To Be Revealed in January 2023 – Confirmed

January 2023 will be an action-packed month for the Indian automotive industry. The Delhi Auto Expo, Asia’s largest automobile event, is returning back with several mega launches, concept and product unveilings. Car manufacturers will also reveal prices of some of their new models and here we have listed 8 major car launches that will take place in January.

Mahindra Thar 4X2

Mahindra & Mahindra will further expand its Thar SUV model lineup with the new 4X2 variants. Reports suggest that the company will introduce the 4X2 (2WD – two-wheel drive) system with a new 117bhp, 1.5L diesel and 2.0L petrol engines. The oil burner will be sourced from the Marazzo MPV. The Mahindra Thar 4X2, 1.5L diesel version is likely to be priced around Rs 10 lakh, thus making it the most affordable variant. More details here…

Mahindra XUV400

Mahindra XUV400 charging

Prices of the Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV will be announced in January 2023. Though, its deliveries will begin February and March. As per the leaked document, the EV will be offered in three variants – Base, EP and EL. It features a 39.5kWh battery pack that has state-of-the-art Li-ion cells. The electric SUV can achieve 0 to 100kmph in 8.3 seconds and attain a maximum speed of 150kmph. The combined power out of the setup stands at 148bhp. MG Hector and Hector Plus facelifts prices will be revealed on 5th January 2023. Both SUVs will witness minimal design changes and feature upgrades. Engine setup, however, will remain intact. The 2023 model year will come with the same 2.0L turbo diesel, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L petrol mild hybrid engine options. The SUVs will come with the ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) along with the new 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system benefited with the Next-Gen i-Smart technology. More details here…

Citroen e-C3

The French automaker will launch the Citroen e-C3 electric hatchback in January. The model will be equipped with a 30.2kWh battery pack and deliver a range around 200km – 250km. The company has confirmed that it will source the LFP cells from Svolt Energy. There will be a single electric motor promising a maximum power of 86bhp and 143Nm of torque. Most of its design and features will be similar to the ICE-powered C3. Though, the electric iteration will have some EV-specific changes inside and out. More details here…

Tata Harrier, the mid-size SUV from the home-grown automaker, will soon receive a special edition in the country. The limited edition will have sporty red accents on the front grille and brake callipers along with a special edition badging on the front fenders. Inside, there will be red leatherette seat upholstery, red coloured door handles and red and gloss black contrasting elements. The Tata Harrier special edition will use the same 170bhp, 2.0L diesel engine with both manual and automatic gearbox. More details here…

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso Xtra Edition has already been revealed by the carmaker, but its prices are likely to be announced in January 2023. The small SUV’s limited edition will have an ‘Xtra’ badge along with the door and wheel arch cladding and a front skid plate. Inside the cabin, the S-Presso Xtra edition will have centre instrument panel with red accents surrounding, ‘Xtra’ edition mats and red accents on the door panel. The special edition will be powered by the same 1.0L, naturally aspirated K10C petrol engine making 66bhp and 89Nm. More details here…

Hyundai Ioniq 5 India Launch

Hyundai Ioniq 5, the flagship electric car of Hyundai India, will go on sale in January 2023. Its bookings have already been commenced at an initial sum of Rs 1 lakh. Based on the E-GMP (Electric – Global Modular Platform) architecture, the Ioniq 5 will come via CBU route and estimated to cost below Rs 50 lakh. Globally, the electric crossover is being offered with a 72.6kWh and a 58kWh battery pack. Here, the company will bring in the 58kWh battery version making power worth 169bhp.
