Electric Citroen e-C3 Launch in January – Expected Price

The French automaker has confirmed the Citroen e-C3 India launch for early 2023. While its exact launch date is yet to be revealed, the electric hatchback is likely to arrive in the month of January. It will be an affordable, entry-level electric car that’s expected to be priced around Rs 10 lakh – Rs 12 lakh. If launched at this price point, it will take directly on the Tata Tiago EV. The Tiago EV comes in four trims – XE, XT, XZ+ and XZ+ Tech – priced between Rs 8.49 lakh – Rs 11.79 lakh (all, ex-showroom).

With an aim to achieve aggressive pricing, the company will use a battery capacity of 30.2kWh. The carmaker has confirmed that it will source the LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) cells from Svolt Energy, which is a subsidy of China’s Great Wall Motors. The LFP batteries are more stable and affordable than the NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) cells. In fact, these cells work efficiently in a wide range of temperatures and have longer cycle life.
