More Ola Electric Scooters and Bikes In Next 2 Years

Ola Electric, India’s leading electric two-wheeler maker, has revealed its plan to launch more electric scooter and bikes in near future. Bhavish Aggarwal, the CEO of Ola Electric, said that the company aims to bring in 6 new EVs in the next couple of years (i.e. 2023 – 2024). While Ola will introduce a new mass-market scooter next year, there will be a premium and a mass-market motorcycle in 2024. The upcoming Ola electric bikes will come in multiple formats including cruisers, adventure, sports and road-bikes.

Furthermore, the Bengaluru-based electric manufacturer will foray into the electric premium car and SUV market in 2024 or 2025. The company will also roll out a new mass-market car in 2026. Ola has already released a couple of teaser images of its upcoming electric car featuring LED light bar at the front with an illuminated Ola badge, front bumper with big vents, a glass roof with a coupe-esque roofline and taillamps connected via a light bar.

Ola S1 Air Features

The new Ola electric car is claimed to deliver a range of over 500km on a single charge. It can accelerate 0 to 100kmph in less than 4 seconds. The model will be packed with Ola’s in-house MoveOS software, keyless and handleless doors and assisted driving capabilities. The company already confirmed that the first Ola EV car will hit roads in the summer of 2024. Its prices are likely to be above Rs 25 lakh.

In order to achieve such ambitious plan, Ola Electric will commission its own cell manufacturing facility with a 5GWh capacity by the end of 2023. It will install 100GWh over the course of this decade. Currently, the company has three electric scooters in its product portfolio including S1 Air, S1 S1 Pro. While the S1 Air is the cheapest one priced at Rs 84,999, the S1 and S1 Pro cost Rs 99,999 and Rs 1.40 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.
