It is no secret that Jeep is working on an all-new 7-seater SUV, which will be based on the Compass platform. The SUV has been spotted testing alongside an all-new Fiat compact SUV on the Brazilian streets. The Jeep compact SUV has been spotted for the first time. It is scheduled to be launched in Brazil in 2021. On the other hand, the 7-seater Jeep SUV will go on sale in 2020 or early 2021.

The Jeep compact SUV is reportedly to be based on the Argo platform. It won’t share the platform or any other components with Jeep models. The compact SUV will be slightly smaller than the Jeep Renegade and will feature a more urban and sporty design. It is reportedly to feature Argo and Toro-inspired strokes on the front, while the roof will be slightly curved. It will have different body paint, including the rear coloumn and a generous spoiler on the glass.

The spotted model was heavily covered with black cloth, though the spy images give an idea of the size of the model. The SUV will challenge the likes of the Nissan Kicks, Honda WR-V and the future VW Nivus. The Fiat compact SUV will be based on an evolved Argo architecture and will feature the new 120bhp, 1.0 Firefly turbo engine, coupled with a CVT-type automatic gearbox. It is expected that the production version of the Fastback concept shown at the 2018 Toro-derived Auto Show.

Based on the Small Wide platform, the new Jeep 7-seater SUV is expected to sport newly developed steering gear and suspension unit. It is likely to feature around 2.80m of wheelbase and will have an additional third-row of seats to accommodate more passengers. Going by the pictures, it is visible that the SUV will come with all-new design.

Fiat 7-seater SUV spied

The new Jeep 7-seater SUV is expected to feature a new 1.3L, 4-cylinder turbocharged MultiAir 16V engine featuring electrically control valve opening. In the European-spec model, this engine pushes out a peak power of 180bhp with torque between 225Nm – 245Nm. Transmission on offer might include a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed ZF-sourced automatic unit.
