The much-awaited Hyundai Aura sub-4 meter sedan will officially go on sale in the Indian market on January 21, 2019. Ahead of the launch, colors, key features, specifications and other details of the Aura have been revealed. The compact sedan will directly rival the likes of the Maruti Dzire, Ford Aspire and the Honda Amaze.

The Hyundai Aura will be offered in six exterior colors – Titan Grey, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Fiery Red, Vintage Brown and Alpha Blue. The sedan comes with several segment-first features including wireless charger, driver rear view monitor, chrome door handles, leather wrapped gear knob, Eco coating, emergency stop signal and air curtain.

The Hyundai Aura comes equipped with 5.3-inch digital speedometer and Multi Information display. It features a large 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Arkamys premium sound system and projector fog lamp.

The Hyundai Aura will be offered with 3 engine options – a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a 1.2-litre diesel. The naturally aspirated petrol engine is good for 81bhp of power and 113Nm of torque, while the diesel engine produces 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Hyundai Aura Launch Date

The 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine is the same unit that also powers the Venue; however, the engine has been de-tuned to suit the needs of a compact sedan. While the powering the Aura, this engine produces 99bhp and 171Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. In Venue, the 1.0L engine produces 118bhp and 171Nm of torque and is paired to a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT.

In terms of proportions, the Hyundai Aura is 3,995mm in length, 1,680mm in width and 1,520mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm. It comes with a boot space of 402-litres, which is good for a sub-4 meter car.
