With the beginning of the festive season, we will witness several new car launches across different segments. Here’s a brief on the upcoming 6 new cars, which are ready to hit roads in coming weeks.
Maruti Grand Vitara
Maruti Suzuki will announce prices of its much-awaited Grand Vitara SUV in the third week of September, 2022. Interestingly, it will be the first strong hybrid Maruti car in India. It will come in Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, Zeta+ and Alpha+ trims. Buyers will have two powertrain options – a 103bhp, 1.5L petrol mild hybrid and a 114bhp, 1.5L strong hybrid. There will be three gearboxes on offer – a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic and an e-CVT (reserved for 1.5L strong hybrid variants). Tata Tiago EV
Tata Motors has confirmed the Tiago EV launch for 28th September, 2022. The e-hatchback is expected to cost around Rs 10 lakh that will make it the most affordable electric car in the country. The latest teaser reveals that the Tata Tiago EV will come with the adjustable regenerative braking system and cruise control. While the former will aid to its fuel efficiency, the latter will improve its handling and highway performance. The electric hatchback is likely to come with a 26kWh battery pack and a 75PS electric motor offering a range of 306km on a full charge. More details here…
BYD Atto 3
The Atto 3 will be BYD’s second electric offering in India. The model is slated to witness a market launch on 11th October 2022. Its deliveries, however, are likely to begin in early 2023. The BYD Atto 3 will be the longest car in its segment, measuring around 4,455mm in length, 1,875mm in width and 1,615mm in height. The electric SUV features a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that’s good for 201bhp and 310Nm. It can do 0 to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds. The Atto 3 uses a 49.92kWh battery pack offering a range of 345km. Its long-range version will come with a 60.48kWh battery pack deliver a range of 420km. More details here…
Updated Mahindra XUV300/Bolero
Mahindra XUV300 and Bolero SUVs will soon be introduced with the brand’s new Twin Peak logo. No other changes will be made to the models. The updated Mahindra XUV300 will continue to come with a 1.5L diesel engine making 117bhp and 300Nm and a 1.2L turbo petrol motor delivering 110bhp and 200Nm. Both manual and automatic gearboxes are on offer. The Mahindra Bolero has been powered by a 1.5L diesel engine that makes a peak power of 75bhp and 210Nm of torque. More details here…
Toyota Glanza CNG
The Toyota Glanza CNG is ready to hit showrooms in coming weeks. Ahead of its official arrival, the leaked document reveals that will come in three variants – S, G and V. All three model will use a 1.2L, 4-cylinder petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit. The motor, with a 5-speed manual gearbox, returns a maximum power of 76bhp at 6,000rpm.
