The soon-to-be launched Maruti Suzuki’s new Grand Vitara mid-size SUV has already created buzz among buyers. And proof of it lies in the fact that the model received over 55,000 bookings even before its market launch. As the bookings keep pouring in, the waiting period for select variants reached up to 5.5 months. In the mid-size SUV space, the new Maruti Grand Vitara will face challenge from Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and the newly-launched Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It will be a premium Nexa offering that will see a release in the third week of September 2022.
The carmaker has already confirmed that the Maruti Grand Vitara will come in 6 trims – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, Zeta+ and Alpha+. Save for the Zeta+ and Alpha+ variants, all trims will be available with a 103bhp, 1.5L petrol mild hybrid powertrain and a 5-speed manual gearbox. A 6-speed automatic transmission will be available from the Delta trim onwards.
One must note that the Maruti Suzuki’s AllGrip Select AWD system can be had with manual gearbox on the Zeta and Alpha trims only. The Zeta+ and Alpha+ variants will be made available with a 114bhp, 1.5L strong hybrid powertrain. The unit will be paired to an e-CVT gearbox.
The Zeta+ and Alpha+ trims come with some exclusive features such as leatherette steering wheel, black leatherette seats, ventilated front seats, a 360 degree camera, upgraded sound system, puddle lamps, Head-Up display, wireless charger, a 7.0-inch fully digital instrument cluster, dashboard ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, dark grey front and rear skid plates, silver roof rails, tyre pressure monitor, silver roof rails and dual-tone colour schemes. The list of standard fitments includes electrically adjustable wing mirrors, steering mounted controls, a 4.2-inch TFT display in instrument cluster, auto air conditioning, rear AC vents, keyless entry and go, rear centre armrest, rear parking sensors, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP with hill hold, Isofix mount, 3-point seatbelts for all sets and more.
