The festive season is a couple of months away and automakers have already gearing up to introduce new products in the market. Here’s a brief on the top 4 upcoming new SUVs that will hit showrooms before 2021 Diwali season.

1. Mahindra XUV700

The Mahindra XUV700 premium 7-seater SUV is ready to make official debut on 15th August 2021. While its launch date is yet to be announced, the three-row SUV is likely to see a release in the month of September or in the first week of October. It will be one of the most feature packed SUVs in its segment. Engine setup of the XUV700 will include a 200bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol and 185bhp, 2.2L mHawk diesel motor, thus making it the most powerful vehicle in its category.

2. Volkswagen Taigun

Official bookings of the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun mid-size SUV will being in the third week of August and its launch will happen in September 2021. Similar to the Kushaq, the new VW SUV will underpin MQB AO IN platform and come with the 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo petrol engine options. While the smaller capacity motor makes 113bhp with 175Nm, the bigger unit delivers 147bhp with 250Nm. There will be three gearboxes on offer – 6-speed manual (standard), 6-speed automatic (1.0L petrol only) and 7-speed DSG (1.5L petrol only).

3. Tata HBX

Tata’s HBX concept based mini SUV is reportedly enter into production and its first batch is ready to dispatch to dealers. Its production-ready avatar is likely to arrive by October 2021. It could be named ‘Tata Timero’ or ‘Tata Hornbill’. The HBX will be the smallest and most affordable SUV from Tata that’s estimated to cost from Rs 4.50 lakh. Powering the mini SUV could be a 86bhp, 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol and 110bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol engines with the 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. The turbo-petrol unit could be exclusively offered with the dual-clutch automatic transmission.

4. Force Gurkha

Force Motors has already confirmed that the new-generation Grukha will hit roads in the third quarter of 2021 (i.e. July – September). Compared to the current generation, the new one will be more rugged and upmarket with the BS6-compliant powertrain. The off-road SUV will underpin the new ladder-on-frame chassis and have new stronger bodyshell to meet the existing crash test norms and the upcoming pedestrian safety standards. The new 2021 Force Gurkha will derive its power from a BS6-ready diesel motor delivering power worth 90bhp and 280Nm of torque. It will be offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox and 4WD with manual locking differentials.
