Mahindra & Mahindra has sent us a ‘block your date’ invite for an upcoming new product that will be unveiled on 15th August 2021. While the carmaker hasn’t mention the product name, it’s most likely to be the new Mahindra XUV700 premium 7-seater SUV. In the past few weeks, Mahindra dropped multiple teaser videos of the three-row SUV that will be placed against the newly-launched Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari.
The upcoming XUV700 SUV will be packed with the several segment-first features including auto booster headlamps, AdrenoX infomatics suite with Alexa Auto for the infotainment system, in-car air purifier, drowsiness detection and personalized safety alters. The SUV will offer the segment’s largest panoramic sunroof called – Skyroof. It will have light coloured upholstery with layered dashboard layout and a flat bottom steering with burnished aluminum accents.
The higher trims will be exclusively offered with the Sony music system with a 3D sound feature and multiple speakers fitted on the roof. It can be controlled manual switches and by the Alexa voice command setup. The dual zone climate control for the HVAC will also be reserved for the higher variants. The new Mahindra XUV700 will offer three drive modes, namely, Zip, Zap and Zoom. There will also be a custom drive model. The Mahindra XUV700 will be packed with the segment’s most powerful petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variants will use a 2.0L turbo mStallion unit delivering power around 200bhp and the diesel model will be powered by a 2.2L mHawk turbo motor making 185bhp. Both engines will be available with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed Aisin-sourced torque convertor automatic gearbox.
