4 Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Cars In Next 12 Months

Maruti Suzuki is getting aggressive with its product strategy for the fast growing Indian auto market. The company had introduced the Jimny, Fronx, new Baleno, Jimny and the Grand Vitara in the past couple of years. All these models are receiving an overwhelming response from car buyers, as MSIL reported close to 2 lakh sales mark in January 2023. In order to further boost sales, the company is planning to launch 8 new vehicles in the next 2-3 years.

In the next 12 months, Maruti Suzuki will launch 4 new cars in the Indian market. The big news is that the company will make its entry in the electric space with an all-new electric SUV based on the eVX concept. Moreover, the new-gen Swift and the Dzire will be introduced in our market sometime in the next 2-3 months. MSIL is also developing a new 3-row SUV based on the Grand Vitara, which is most likely to arrive in the first quarter of 2024.

The new gen Suzuki Swift has already been introduced in the Japanese market. The new Swift and its sedan sibling, the Dzire have been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian roads. The hatchback is likely to arrive in Feb-March 2024, while the new Dzire is expected in the second quarter of 2024. Both models are based on the modified HEARTECT platform that underpins the Baleno. The new models will share the interior with the Baleno hatchback. The new Swift and Dzire will be powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z-series engine that produces 82bhp and 108Nm of torque. The mild-hybrid version has a DC synchronous motor, which offers an additional power and torque outputs of 3.1bhp and 60Nm, respectively.

The long-awaited Maruti Suzuki eVX electric SUV in its production avatar will be introduced during festive season, around September-October 2024. The new model will be locally developed at Suzuki’s Gujarat based manufacturing plant. The electric SUV will come with a high amount of localised content including batteries and drivetrain. It will be based on an all-new skateboard platform, which will also underpin multiple Suzuki and Toyota electric vehicles. This electric SUV is likely to be offered with two battery options – a 60kWh and 48kWh.

Maruti Suzuki EVX Concept EV

The 3-row version of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, internally codenamed Y17 will be positioned against the Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar and the Tata Safari. The new 7-seater Maruti Suzuki will be produced at the company’s new Kharkhoda plant. It will be launched in the first quarter of 2024, most probably in February. The new model is likely to be offered with petrol, hybrid and CNG powertrains.
