4 New Royal Enfield Bikes To Launch In India In 2020-21

Royal Enfield is gearing up to launch a wide range of new motorcycles in the Indian market. The company will introduce at least 4 new bikes before the end of this year. These new bikes will also mark the debut of brand’s new platform.

Royal Enfield will launch 3 new bikes in 350cc single-cylinder segment, which will replace the existing Classic and Thunderbird range. The company will introduce the new Classic 350, the Meteor and a new 350cc cruiser bike (new Thunderbird). Adding to it, a new 650cc twin-cylinder Royal Enfield cruiser motorcycle has recently been spotted testing in India.

A leaked brochure reveals that the Royal Enfield Meteor will be offered in 3 variants – Fireball, Stellar and Supernova. While the Fireball will come in Yellow and Red colour schemes, the Stellar variants will be offered in 3 paint jobs – Metallic Gloss Red, Metallic Gloss Blue and Matte Black. The range-topping variant will be offered in dual-tone brown and blue colour schemes.

The new Royal Enfield 350cc bikes will come with tripper navigation system as standard along with Bluetooth connectivity. For performing braking duties, the RE Meteor will have disc brakes at both ends. The model line-up will get dual-channel ABS as standard feature.

2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350 Features

Talking about the new-gen RE Classic 350, the new iteration of the popular bike will retain the old-school look. However, it will have newly-styled fuel tank and alloy wheels, and revised tail-lamp and exhaust. The new motorcycle will be based on the new dual-craddle frame instead of the existing UCE (Unit Construction Engine) platform. The new Classic 350 will come with a semi-digital instrument console with an analogue speedometer. Adding to it, the bike will have crash guard, a pillion backrest, saddlebags and wind deflector as accessories.

The third motorcycle in the 350cc category is likely to be launched as the new-gen Thunderbird. This motorcycle will have low stance and will be based on the same dual-cradle frame that underpins the rest two 350cc bikes. This bike has upward-swept exhaust, single seat and differently styled headlamps and tail-lamps.

These new bikes will be powered by a new 350cc engine with Over Head Cam configuration. It is reportedly to be more refined than the existing 20bhp, 350cc engine. There will be 5-speed gearbox for performing braking duties. Suspension setup will include telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear.

Royal Enfield is also testing an all-new cruiser motorcycle, which is expected to share the engine specs with the bigger RE 650 twins – Interceptor and GT 650. The spotted model was equipped with USD front forks, which will be first for Royal Enfield. The motorcycle has low and long profile, while the front wheel is bigger than the rear. The cruiser seems inspired by the Royal Enfield KX concept, which was unveiled at EICMA 2018. The upcoming Royal Enfield cruiser motorcycle is likely to receive a BSVI compliant 648cc parallel twin engine with a fuel injection technology. Paired to a 6-speed gearbox, this engine produces 46.8bhp and 52Nm of torque.
