Upcoming New Royal Enfield 650cc Cruiser Motorcycle Spied

Buoyed by success of Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650, Royal Enfield is now ready to expand its 650cc motorcycle range. A new set of spy images reveal that Royal Enfield is readying a new cruiser motorcycle, which is expected to be based on the RE 650cc platform.

The new motorcycle won’t use the RE’s new single-cylinder platform, which will soon be introduced in the Meteor 350. The picture suggests that the motorcycle has similarity with the Royal Enfield 650twins. The test bike gets black cases instead of chrome cases for 650cc engines. The motorcycle also gets an oil cooler mounted to the front of the frame.

It is reported that the new motorcycle could be based on a different frame, as the metal tubing along the side is different from the 650cc Twins. Moreover, the twin rear shocks are also placed differently. The spotted model also features a USD front fork, which will be first for Royal Enfield.

The motorcycle has low and long profile, while the front wheel is bigger than the rear. The new Royal Enfield 650cc cruiser motorcycle features alloys wheels and fatter rear tyre. The cruiser seems inspired by the Royal Enfield KX concept, which was unveiled at EICMA 2018.

The spotted model has bigger teardrop-shaped fuel tank and larger rear fender. There is a dual-exhaust pipes, which looks similar to the one offered in the Interceptor 650. The motorcycle gets a large instrument console in the middle with smaller one on the side.

The upcoming Royal Enfield cruiser motorcycle is likely to receive a BSVI compliant 648cc parallel twin engine with a fuel injection technology. This is the same engine that powers the RE 650 Twins. It is capable of producing 46.8bhp at 7,150rpm and a peak torque of 52Nm at 5,250rpm. For performing transmission duties, the bike will have a 6-speed gearbox.
