3 Upcoming Electric Cars In Early 2023 – Confirmed

2023 will start with a bang for the Indian automobile industry as the Delhi Auto Expo will return in January. The event will witness several new product unveiling and launches. In the first half of 2023, there will be multiple new car launches across different segments including 3 new electric vehicles. Here’re some key details of the upcoming electric cars, which have been confirmed for early 2023.

BYD Atto 3

BYD Atto 3 Range

Official bookings for the upcoming BYD Atto 3 have already been commenced in India at a token sum of Rs 50,000. Deliveries for its first 500 customers will start from January 2023. Powertrain setup of the Atto 3 includes a 60kWh Blade battery offering a range of 521km (ARAI-certified) on a single charge. It has a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor pushing out a peak power of 201bhp and 310Nm of torque. The electric SUV can do 0 to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds. It will be made available with a 7kW AC charger and a 80kW DC fast charger that will juice up its battery in around 10 hours and 50 minutes respectively. More details here…

Mahindra confirmed that the official bookings for the XUV400 will begin in the first week of January 2023. Its market launch will happen by the end of January. It’s surely one of the much-awaited upcoming electric cars in India. In the first phase, the electric SUV will be made available across 16 select cities. Compared to the XUV300, the new Mahindra XUV400 appears slightly different featuring a closed-off grille, new Twin Peaks logo, grille with X-patterned bronze and black design and rectangular headlamps. The XUV400 will be available with a 39.5kWh battery pack delivering a combined power of 148bhp and 310Nm of torque. It’s claimed to offer a range of 456km (as per MIDC cycle) on a full charge. The e-SUV can achieve 0 to 100kmph in 8.6 seconds and a maximum speed of 150kmph. More details here…

Citroen C3 EV

Citroen C3 electric hatchback was scheduled to make debut on 29th September, 2022. Though, it didn’t happen. The company has already confirmed that it will foray into the EV segment in early 2023. The model will come under the brand’s C-cubed programme and will be designed on Citroen’s CMP platform. Design, interior and feature of the C3 electric will be similar to its ICE-powered version. Its powertrain system will include a 50kWh battery pack delivering power worth 350km on a full charge. Its power and torque output will stand at 136PS and 260Nm. The C3 EV might also be offered with a smaller battery pack promising a range of around 300km-350km. More details here…
