3 Major Car Launches Next Week – Tiago EV, Creta Rivals

The next week of April 2023 is going to be super happening for the Indian automobile industry as there will be three major car launches. The list includes MG’s all-new 4-seater, small electric car – Comet, Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx compact crossover and Citroen’s C3 Aircross compact SUV. Here’re some key details of the aforementioned models.

MG Comet

Prices of the new MG Comet EV will be announced on April 26, 2023. It’s a 2-door, 4-seater electric car, based on Wuling Air EV retailed in Indonesia. The model measures 2974mm in length, 1505mm in width and 1631mm in height with a wheelbase of 2010mm, thus making it the smallest car in the country. The Comet looks very distinctive with its compact dimensions, futuristic design and boxy stance. Inside, the EV has a dual 10.25-inch infotainment system with the smartphone connectivity and two-spoke steering wheel with Apple iPod-like controls. The carmaker hasn’t yet revealed its specifications, but it’s reported to get 20kWh battery pack and offer a range of over 200km. More details here…

Maruti Suzuki Fronx

Launch date of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is yet to be revealed. Though, it’s likely to hit roads next week. The compact crossover will be offered in Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta and Alpha trims, packed with a 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.2L petrol engines.  White the turbo petrol motor makes 100bhp with 147.6Nm, the latter delivers 90bhp with 113Nm. The top-end Alpha trim is packed with features such as a 360 degree camera, cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, Head-Up Display, dual-tone colours and 16-inch diamond cut alloys. It will be a Nexa offering and expected to cost from Rs 8 lakh onwards. More details here…

Citroen C3 Aircross

Citroen is ready to unveil its new C3 Aircross compact SUV on 27th April, 2023. The model will be designed on the CMP modular platform and take on the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Maruti Grand Vitara. It will measure around 4.2-metres in length and share its design elements with the C3 hatchback. In fact, its interior layout and features could also be similar to its hatchback sibling. Powering the new Citroen SUV will be the 1.2, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine that does duty in the C3. The motor produces a peak power of 110bhp and 190Nm of torque.
